Fundación en Vía

Description of organisation:

Fundación En Vía is a non-profit organization working with indigenous communities in Oaxaca, Mexico. En Vía is committed to supporting social and community development through the combination of three main programs: microfinance, responsible tourism, and education. We began working with communities in Oaxaca in 2008 and were formally founded in 2010. En Vía's no-interest loans, generated from our microfinance tours, ensure that our borrowers have a more viable option than commercial banks. Our borrowers are then able to leverage their loans to have a real impact on their small businesses, their lives and ultimately the entire community. We offer a variety of educational programs such as English and Internet classes, as well as business classes in the local communities of Oaxaca. Our programs are supported by a wonderful team of volunteers. The classes are a great project to get involved in--we have a lot of fun, and it really makes a difference in the communities!

General information:

Join us today! We are currently recruiting teachers for our English program. We welcome teachers at all times of the year, if you are not available at the moment but further in the future, please get in touch. We also host internships and can complete any paperwork required by your college/university.

I’m contacting you on behalf of the Director of the Language Department in our University. We’re interested to know who to contact to explore the possibilities to have volunteers come and work with our students, so they can practice the language. It's not necessary to have teaching experience, since the goal is for our students to gain confidence in using English to communicate their ideas. We are open to different options as long as said goal can be reached.
In Universidad Tecnológica de Queretaro we have worked with other volunteer organizations such as Global Volunteers for over 17 years, and we’d like to work on a program with you. If you think that is a possibility, please let us know.

I am a Mexican Nutritionist and I volunteered in Envia giving nutrition workshops. I had the opportunity to get to know wonderful people.
I enjoyed volunteering because through this program I got to know more about my country, I saw that it empowers women and I just feel so proud that I left a seed to help them.

My wife and I volunteered for a month in Oaxaca teaching English with the wonderful folks at EnVia. We had a great time, made new and lasting friendships and felt it was one of the most important months of our lives. If you are considering volunteering and are looking for an organization committed to doing the most good EnVia in Oaxaca is a great choice. Feel free to contact me if you want more info.
